Kenya Airways Gets Another Embraer

Kenya Airways has received the sixth of its ten new Embraer E-190 jets ordered for its fleet expansion to cover more African routes.

Kenya Airways expects to take delivery of the remaining four fully owned jets by mid this year. The new aircraft is suited for short regional routes within the Africa continent, where the airline is expanding rapidly.

The E-190 has a 96 seating capacity, 12 in businesses and 84 economy class. Kenya Airways currently operates 11 Embraer E-190s.

In addition to the E-jets bought under its 10 year strategic plan Kenya Airways has also ordered nine Boeing 787 Dreamliners expected to be delivered starting 2014.
