Angola: Bocoio's Carnival Parade Jury Set Up

Bocoio — Sixteen members of the jury for the 2013 edition of the carnival in Bocoio Municipality, central Benguela Province, attended an upgrading seminar last Monday, in which they learnt the techniques to use in assessing the performance of carnival groups.

In the course, promoted by the Benguela Culture Department, the participants learnt about the regulation of the carnival parade, organisation of the classification report, assessment by points, among other topics.

According to the head of the municipal section of culture, youth and sports, João Baptista, this year's carnival will have innovations in terms of assessment criteria of the groups.

He also revealed that in the Bocoio carnival partade, scheduled for February 12, will participate five children's group and 29 adult ones.

He informed that several traditional dances will be seen in this parade, mainly Tchipuete, Tchingaji, Ukongo and Djando.
