Nigeria: Mali-Bound Soldiers' Attacker Yet to Be Arrested

Lokoja — The police are yet to arrest unknown gunmen that attacked Mali-bound soldiers at Abobo village along the Okene-Lokoja Road in Okehi local government of Kogi State.

State Police Public Relations Officer Ajayi Okasami said the police are yet to track down the gunmen who attacked the military convoy in the state, saying however that the matter is still under investigation. Last Saturday, unknown gunmen attacked a military convoy of two luxury buses at about 6am, killing two soldiers and injured several others.

The soldiers, who were being conveying in convoy from Ibadan to Kaduna when the incident happened, were said to be part of the Nigeria military contingent deployed to Mali.
