Namibia: Kaimbi Bags Thailand Award

NAMIBIAN forward Lazarus Kaimbi scooped the Thai Premier League's Best Goal of the Season prize on Monday.

The Osotspa Saraburi player earned the Football Siam Golden Ball Awards' accolade for an exquisite first-time volley in a league match against BEC Tero Sasana - an effort which was also voted as his club's goal of the season.

"I feel obviously happy and great for the award and want to thank all the people that voted for me and most of all thank God for the blessing he has given me [because] without him, this could not happen," Kaimbi said.

Kaimbi enjoyed a stellar campaign with Osotspa, and was a key component as the club finished fifth in the Thai Premier League.

He missed the first half of the season due to an injury but made a big impact when he returned for the second half of the season.

During that time he played 10 matches, scoring nine goals to finish up as the club's leading goal scorer.
