Angola: Geology and Mining Minister Swears in New Staff

Luanda — The minister of Geology and Mining, Francisco Queiróz, last Tuesday in Luanda swore in new staff for his department.

The minister inaugurated Miguel Paulino Augusto de Almeida, in the post of national director for mining, Luís Baptista António, in the posto f national director for registration and licensing, and Marcelina Augusto da Costa, in the position of secretary-general of the Geology and Mining Ministry.

In the ceremony were also sworn in José Gonçalves da Costa Ribeiro as director of the office of studies, planning and statistics, Dias António Francisco, as director of the office for information and new technologies, and Seca Sousa Cassange, who now holds the position of assistant director of the Angolan Geologic Institute.

Francisco Queiroz also inaugurated Mankenda Ambroise as director of the Angolan Geologic Institute and André Francisco Buta as a consultant for the secretary of State for Geology and Mining.

On the occasion, Francisco Queiróz stressed that the expectations regarding the mining sector are many.

"We have a mission to accomplish, diversification of mining exploration, increasing revenues and improving people's living standard", he explained.
