Angola: Sports Minister Commends 1º De Agosto Team

Luanda — The minister of Youth and Sports, Gonçalves Muandumba, on Tuesday in Luanda commended the performance of 1º de Agosto basketball team for winning the 27th edition of the African Champion Clubs Cup, which took place in December last year, in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea.

The minister spoke on the fringe of the audience that the Angolan Head of Stae, José Eduardo Santos, granted to the 1º de Agosto team, having stressed that the solidity of Angolan basketball is an example for Africa.

"This is something that makes us proud and His Excellency has had the kindness to include this audience with the (1º de Agosto) athletes in his busy agenda (...). It is true that this is an elite team.

They won the 27th edition of the African Champion Clubs Cup in basketball", stressed the Youth and Sports minister.

The ceremony was also attended by the governor of Luanda Province, Bento Bento, Education minister, Mpinda Simão, and the Chief of Staff of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA), Geraldo Sachipengo Nunda.
