A 40-year-old woman was yesterday charged in a Thika court with child neglect. Lucy Gathoni denied abandoning her two-day-old child at the Thika main stage last saturday.
Gathoni was arrested by members of the public after she abandoned the child in a handbag. She was remanded at the Thika Women's Prison until January 31 when the case will be heard. The child was taken to Karibu Children's Home in the town.
