Angola to Train About 250 Scientists, Researcher Engineers

Luanda — Angola is expected to train some 250 scientists and researcher engineers by 2020, under the National Plan of Staff Training (PNFQ), said Wednesday the assistant of State Minister and Chief of Civil Office of the Presidency of Republic, Edson Barreto.

The official said when presenting the Strategy and PNFQ to the staff and partners of the Ministry of Science and Technology.

The meeting was attended by the incumbent minister, Maria Candida Teixeira, and Secretary of State, João Sebastião Teta.

Delivering his speech, the official presented the evolution of the national stock of personnel in 2010/2020 period, in which the staff stood at 1, 230, corresponding to 28.8 percent at an incidence of 8.2 percent of jobs.

He stressed that with this trend, the country foresees to reach a figure of 2, 320 in 2020, 33 percent of staff, in a percentage of 8.5 jobs.

The objective of National Plan of Staff Training is to ensure an excellent professional training in public administration and guarantee the training of highly qualified staff, with benefits in terms of competitiveness and internationalisation of the Angolan economy.
