Nigeria: Jos - Police Anti-Bomb Unit Detonates 140 IEDs

The Anti-Bomb Unit of the Plateau State Command of the Nigerian Police Force, on Wednesday detonated 140 Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) at Zarmaganda area of Jos, the state capital.

Addressing the press shortly after the detonation, head of the anti-bomb squard, Mr Abel Mbibi said the IEDs when recovered were kept for over time for police awareness purpose.

He said having been kept for a long time, some of them have started detonating on their own, adding that that informed the detonation exercise carried out by his unit.
