Tunisia: Issam Jemaa Out of Afcon With Knee Injury

Rustenburg — Striker of Tunisia's national soccer team Issam Jemaa will miss the rest of the games at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) because of injury, sources close to the national team told TAP correspondent in Rustenburg.

Medical examinations conducted Wednesday morning by the player of SC Kuwait showed a serious knee sprain which will rule him out of the pitch for six weeks.

The player will be not be replaced since rules of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) state that a player can be replaced only it if he sustains serious injury before the kickoff of AFCON.

Jemaa was injured Tuesday evening 16 minutes after the start of Algeria's game and was replaced by Hamdi Harbaoui.

He is the second player of Tunisia to be ruled out of AFCON 2013 after Fatah Gharbi who was replaced by Houssam Haj Mabrouk.
