Ghana: Adwoa Safo Urges Constituents to Remain Calm

Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, Sarah Adwoa Safo has urged members of her constituency to remain calm with the conviction that something positive will come out of the Supreme Court suit filed by the party to challenge the verdict of the 2012 General Elections.

She told the visibly disturbed crowd that the investiture of John Dramani Mahama as the President of the country will have no effect on the final determination of the outcome of the supreme court trial, stressing that if the supreme court rules in favour of Nana Addo, another investiture, therefore, would be organized for him while the one organized for John Mahama will be annulled.

Adwoa Safo, who is presently on a thank you tour to thank her constituents for massively voting for her in the recent general elections, told the crowd that the grim faces many Ghanaians are showing are indication that they are generally discontent about the outcome of the elections as declared by the EC, hence the need for justice to prevail at the courts.

She assured the constituents that the NPP legal team has assembled time tested, fool proof, watertight, solid rock evidence that will definitely change the outcome of the results in favour of Nana Addo and strongly believes that the Supreme Court judges will also do everything possible to allow justice to prevail.

Hon .Adwoa Safo who punched holes into a carefully knitted and crafted plan by the NDC to rig the elections, said Ghanaians must stand firm against acts that have the potential to derail the gains made in our democratic dispensation and any attempt to bring it down must not be entertained at all, stating that in every democracy it's the will of the people that must prevail.

She maintained that it's not about the referees, who supervise the elections, nor the people who count it that matter most, but more importantly it's about the person who cast the vote and for that matter the EC should allow our votes to be counted.

She asked her constituents to remain unfazed by the derogatory comments made by the NDC members and just hope that John Mahama is just playing his caretaker responsibility and very soon the true verdict would be pronounced by the Supreme Court. Adwoa Safo assured that she would work very hard as Member of Parliament for the area to ensure that the right decisions that will affect the lives of the people of Dome Kwabenya Constituency are taken.
