Liberia: MCSS Teachers Hopeful of Salary Increment

The Monrovia Consolidated Teachers Association (MCSSTA) through its President says it is hopeful of salary increment during the payment of salary this month. It can be recalled that two years ago, teachers of the MCSSTA headed by its leadership staged a protest in demand of salary increment from Government of Liberia (GoL).

During that time, the MCSSTA through its leadership proposed an increment of US$70 across the board. But following series of meetings between the teachers and the GoL through the Ministry of Education, the teachers were convinced to go back to the classrooms and that government was going to address their-teachers' plights when the next budget was approved.
