Egypt Signs Third Metro Line Station Contract

Egypt signed on Wednesday 23/1/2013 a contract with a French company to carry out all needed construction works at a station in the second planned stage of the third Metro line.

Chairman of the National Authority for Tunnels Atta el-Sherbini inked the agreement with the French side in the presence of Prime Minister Hisham Qandil.

The third line crosses the Greater Cairo area East-West from Salah Salem to Embaba. It includes crossings of the Nile on either side of Zamalek Island and will interchange with Line 1 at Attaba and Line 2 at Nasser.

Earlier this month, Cairo signed a contract with Systra of France to propose options to develop the first line of the Metro from Helwan to Marg.
