Juma Odemba together with three other members of Kayamba Africa jetted off to Sudan to headline a charity concert for women in jail in Khartoum.

The other three are Peter Mburu, George Omondi and Shadrack Ndeto.

Juma told Word Is, "We are leaving for Khartoum, Sudan for a series of concerts, thanks to the involvement of our friend Sultana Murad whom we met during our tour to Oman. We will be performing at a charity event that will profit a campaign dubbed 'Women in Jail in Khartoum'."

He continued: "They are so many ladies in jail from different nationalities. Who are unable to get home. They are waiting for someone to pay their return ticket home. We are working with the German Embassy on this campaign."

One of the events was a gala dance on Tuesday night in Khartoum hosted by both the German and Kenyan Embassy at the German Ambassador's residence in Khartoum.

They are also being hosted by Kenyan Ambassador to Khartoum, Robert Ngesu.

The Kayamba Africa crew is expected back on Friday.
