Kenya: Acapella Freeplay Duo Wows Nairobi

The Freeplay duo of Suba Sankaran and Dylan Bell performed to a standing ovation at Kenton College's Roger Owles Memorial Hall in Kileleshwa last Sunday afternoon.

Both  award-winning vocalists, the duo has performed across Canada, US,  Europe and India. Suba combines musical worlds, spanning several  centuries and genres and has performed for Nelson Mandela and Peter  Gabriel. Dylan is an adjudicator and clinician who have given vocal  workshops and master classes throughout North America, Europe and Asia.

In celebrating the 75th  anniversary of Nairobi Music Society, the duo took the audience from  North America to South India in an enchanting musical journey. It was  an entertaining afternoon of astonishing acapella singing, including  jazz, bach, world music, fusion and pop.

"They  had made the audience smiling throughout, with cheers and resounding  applause for their virtuoso performance," said the event's organiser,  Valerie Kent.
