Kenya: Makadem Headed for Europe Concert

Afro-fusion musician Makadem is set to tour Europe for six months starting from January 25 to July 14 2013. Makadem will tour Denmark, Sweden, Canada, USA and Mexico.

Claimed to be "Kenya's Fela Kuti", his songs speaks of the fluid nature of modern African culture. Makadem is a specialist in Benga music, a style that is arguably the most distinctive sound to have come out of Kenya's 70 years of creating urban music. His music is full of tradition and with a lot of storytelling.

Makadem has performed in a number of areas including Danish school classes, opening for Seun Kuti, the Cannes Film Festival, to being a headname of Mexicos Ollin Kan Festival, performing for 40,000 guests.

The concert is sponsored by the Danish Centre for Culture and Development, Womex and Around.
