THE United Bank of Africa (UBA) has donated 200 textbooks to two secondary schools in Morogoro District to enhance the students' learning capacity and academic achievement.
The donated books were presented to Morogoro Secondary School and Kilakala Girls' Secondary School. UBA has its headquarters in Nigeria and branches in many parts of the world including Tanzania.
UBA Chief Operating Officer Imo Etuk on January 18, presented the books to Morogoro District Commissioner, Mr Said Amanzi. The books include novels by African literature giants such as "Weep Not Child' by Ngugi Wa Thiong'o.
Mr Etuk said the bank would continue supporting secondary schools in various parts of the country. He said last year, four schools in Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar were presented with textbooks.
