The future of Gor Mahia's Brazilian striker Giovanni Rodriguez will be known today. This is when coach Zdravko Logarusic presents his report on the status of the Gor Mahia squad to the clubs executive committee.
Rodrigues much hyped move to Gor has come under scrutiny with Logarusic not hiding his feelings about the player's state of fitness. The coach is looking for players who will improve the teams technical ability.
Gor Mahia finished second in the Kenya Premier League last season and will be vying for six trophies this season. "We are expecting the coach to tell us if he is comfortable with the current players he has at his disposal. If necessary we will consider recruiting more players,"said Gor secretary general George Bwana.
Rodrigues, who was omitted from the club's squad to feature in the African Football Confederation's CAF Cup tournament from next month, has been in training with K'Ogallo for one week now but does not seem to have impressed Logarusic.
Bwana also revealed the club is still engaged in talks with their sponsors Brookside Dairy's Tuzo brand. The contract between the two ends in April and Gor are hard pressed to land a deal done soon. "We have been in talks with Tuzo."
