Nigeria: Over 800,000 Pupils Participate in Minna Maulud Procession

Minna — Over 800,000 pupils from various Islamiyya schools across Niger State participated in this year's Eid-el Maulud procession that lasted for several hours across the major roads of Minna.

State Secretary General of the organizing committee of the occasion Mohammed Abdulkadir Osori, who disclosed during the procession, said the occasion was organized and financed by the state chapter of Tijjaniya movement.

He said about 500 Islamiya schools took part in the procession with 300 schools coming from the state capital while the remaining from other parts of the state.

This year's celebration, he said, started since Tuesday where Islamic lectures were delivered, saying all the pupils and their teachers that attended the occasion transported and fed themselves for the love of Prophet Muhammad.
