Nigeria: Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi Prays for Peace, Unity

Bauchi — Renowned Islamic Scholar Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi has urged Muslims Ummah and leaders of various religious sects in the country to stop castigating each other but should unite and pray towards the peaceful co-existence of the country.

Sheikh Bauchi said in Bauchi yesterday while addressing thousands of Muslim faithfull at the in commemoration of birthday of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) that the current insecurity in the country demands for prayers and urged parents to educate their children in both western and religious education to enable them become good members of the society.

The Islamic scholar, who briefly told the biography of Prophet Muhammad and those of his four guided caliphs, urged Muslims to emulate them by rededicating themselves to fear of God, honesty, tolerance good neighbourliness, justice and fairness. He stressed the importance of unity among Muslims and urged them to embrace each other as brothers in Islam and avoid anything that will divide them.

The occasion was attended by guests from within and outside the country among them deputy governors of Bauchi and Zamfara, traditional rulers and eminent Islamic scholars.
