Nigeria: NNPC Confirms Another Break in Arepo Pipeline

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Wednesday confirmed a rupture in its system 2B pipeline at the Arepo axis in the Obafemi/Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State.

Acting Group GM, Group Public Affairs Division of the NNPC, Tumini Green said the break caused a fierce fire which lingered for hours.

"We are unhappy that barely one week after the Group Managing Director of the NNPC, Engineer Andrew Yakubu paid a working visit to the scene of the last fire and pumping of products resumed afterwards, we are back to the same situation. It is so sad that vandals and other criminals will not stop breaking into our pipelines. As a Corporation, we are determined to ensure unimpeded flow of petroleum products no matter the odds," Green said.
