Angola: Minister Defends Promotion of Scientific Research

Luanda — The minister of Higher Education, Adao Ferreira do Nascimento, Thursday defended the need to promote scientific research in order to make the country a reference in the region.

The Cabinet minister was speaking at the swearing in ceremony of the first members of the directors of the Higher Institute for Information Technology.

He said that both university and other staff should apply the best learning methods during the teaching process, so that the students can better understand the subjects.

Adao do Nascimento said that the commitment to the staff training with quality is part of the Government programme for the next five years.

Sworn in were Gabriel Chiquete Chiputo as Director-General of the institution, Carlos Campos Calenga Pataca and Francisco António Augusto, for the posts of deputy director for academic and general secretary, respectively.
