Namibia: Bid for Discharge in Third Treason Trial

THE lone accused being prosecuted in the third Caprivi high treason trial in the High Court at Oshakati asked the court this week to acquit him after the close of the prosecution's case against him.

A ruling on the discharge application of Albius Moto Liseli (55) is scheduled to be given by Judge Marlene Tommasi on March 18. Judge Tommasi reserved her judgement on the application after hearing arguments from Liseli's defence counsel, Unanisa Hengari, and Deputy Prosecutor General Ruben Shileka on Tuesday.
