Al-Azhar yesterday condemned the French military intervention in the sisterly state of Mali branding it as illegitimate.
In a statement released yesterday, Al-Azhar said that the foolish conduct by the militants in the north of Mali has triggered off the French intervention that led to the killing of victims.
Al-Azhar further urged halting the foreign military assault as well as the foolish conducts that are contradictory to the orthodox Islamic teachings.
