Angola: Mantorras Urges Organization in Soccer

Luanda — The former striker of the national soccer team, Pedro Mantorras, said Thursday in Luanda that for the national team to reach great heights it requires internal technical and administrative organization.

Mantorras reacted on the Angolan performance in the African Nations Cup (AFCON2013) after the signing of a protocol between Benfica de Lisboa and Colégio Caju.

According to the former soccer player, primary organization should start from sports officials and afterwards the technical team, as well as the soccer players for a better posture in international competitions, especially in the African Nations Cup.

"We were never favourites and people have to be sincere, honest. It is an honour to be there among the big teams in Africa. We have to grow and change mentality, not only the players but also the sports officials. Let's talk less and work more for success. It's time we check our football.

We tend to say that we qualified for the African Nations Cup and all is well, but that's not right (...)" he reiterated.
