Nigeria: 2015 - Traditional Heads Endorse Benue NLC Boss

Makurdi — Traditional rulers in Gwer East local government Area of Benue state yesterday endorsed the National President of the Agricultural and Allied Employees Union of Nigeria (AAEUN), Comrade Simon Anchver as the next Governor of the state.

Speaking on behalf of the traditional institution in the area, the Ter Gwer, HRH Chief Dominic Akpe noted that the decision to endorse Anchver was based on his antecedent as a labour leader who had carried along his followers successfully over the years.

"The traditional institution in Gwer will support you and you will succeed because of you antecedent portrays you as a humane and humble man with whom power can be entrusted", he stressed.

Chief Akpe expressed confidence in the ability of Anchaver who is also the Benue State Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) to deliver dividends of democracy to the remotes environ of the state.

"We will also urge you to ensure that whatever you do is in conformity with the laid down rules and we will continue to pray for your success", the royal father maintained.
