Six members of the security forces tasked with guarding the Suez city council were shot on Friday after unidentified assailants shot at them with automatic machine guns, an Aswat Masriya eyewitness reported.
The security forces took shelter inside the building.
Six security personnel were injured during the shooting, a medical officer said.
Other assailants torched the old Suez city council building earlier.
Leaders of revolutionary movements in Suez said that the attackers who shot security members and torched the city council are not protesters.
