Egypt: Qandil Sorry for Deaths On 2nd Revolution Anniversary

Prime Minister Hisham Qandil said Saturday 26/01/2013 he is sorry for the victims, whether civilians or policemen, who fell in protests marking the second anniversary of the January 25 Revolution.

Qandil promised to investigate all cases of violence and to punish those involved.

Setting buildings ablaze to force change cannot be justified, the premier stressed nonetheless. He urged all political powers and parties to maintain the peacefulness of the revolution and to denounce violence and attacks on legitimacy.
