Angola: Official Guarantees All Groups Have Means to Participate in Carnival Competition

Luanda — The secretary-general of the Luanda Provincial Association for Carnival (Aprocal), António Oliveira "Delón", on Friday here guaranteed that all the registered carnival groups of this province have received the financial and material means from the authorities, which served for them to prepare their participation in this cultural competition.

Mr Delón, who gave an interview to ANGOP, said that the means were handed to the carnival groups by his association.

"Knowing well that the financial amounts that were distributed do not yet satisfy the demand of this event, we have been working to increase the values, we've spoken also to the heads of the groups to decrease dependence on the means allocated by the state", he explained.

He appealed to entrepreneurs to support carnival groups, since they can also gain with the publicity of their firms in the event.

The carnival is scheduled for 9, 10 and 12 February in the children's category, adults b and adults A categories respectively.
