Eritrea: New Animal Farm in Mai-Noah Village Creates Remarkable Job Opportunity

Mendefera — The inhabitants of Shiketi Administrative area, Southern region, said that a new animal farm in Mai-Noah village has created remarkable job opportunity, besides promoting community awareness regarding modern mode of farming, including sound techniques of soil and water conservation.

Among the employees, Ms. Manna Debesai and Shimondi Yemane expressed satisfaction with the job and the diverse knowledge they are acquiring on the basis of exposure in the integrated farm.

Mr. Redaezgi Gebremedhin, owner of the farm, explained that it targets quality and quantity of harvest on the basis of intensive farming and employing scientific approaches. Moreover, he pointed out that the farm has ensured water resource through soil and water conservation venture along Menguda escarpment.

"The farm is a model one and we are ready to collaborate with the owner," said Mr, Bahta Tedros, head of the Agriculture Ministry's branch in the Southern region.
