Sudan: Farmers, Nomads Conflict 'Displaces 2.000' in West Darfur

Masteri — About 2.000 people were displaced in Masteri, West Darfur, following conflicts between farmers and nomads in the area, an OCHA report says.

The clashes in Masteri, located about 50 kilometers southwest of El Geneina, began on 7 December 2012 after the "alleged killing of a farmer by nomads".

Findings from an inter-agency mission to the area also confirmed that crops belonging to around 3.800 people were destroyed during the conflict.
