Rwanda: Rusizi District Puts in Place Five Year Action Plan

For the long lasting development of the district to be attained, programs like people's habitation in settlement villages have to be encouraged.

This is one of the many resolutions decided upon in the Rusizi district consultative meeting which took place on January 25, 2013. The same meeting also put in place a 5-year action plan for the district. Rusizi.

The meeting brought together members of Joint Action Development Forum (JADF Isonga) aimed at revising thoroughly the expected development in the district in the next 5 years 2013-2018).

The programs will include empoering agriculture and animal husbandry, tourism and transportation, habitation and a developed Rusizi town. The district will also focus on increasing the supply of water and energy, clearing roads and decentralization of leadership to all people.

According to Desire Kaberuka the (EWSA) representative in Rusizi and Nyamasheke, for the expected programs to be achieved in the next 5 years, people have to fully participate especially settling in allocated villages for them to easily access public infrastructures.
