Rwanda: Dr Claude's Reggae Album to Be Launched in May

Dr. Claude, real name Jean Claude Iyamuremye, is set to release his first reggae album in May.

"The all-reggae album will consist of ten songs and no collaboration. I cannot mention the titles of the song just yet as I want to surprise my fans," Dr Claude told The New Times.

This will be Dr. Claude's fourth album. He released his first album in 2007 and another in 2009.

"My plan is to work on all the songs before making videos. I hope to complete it in early April and then launch in May," he explained.

Dr Claude was born in a family of musicians. His mother was a singer in a church choir and his brother, Desiré Nziza, made it big in the music industry in Burundi.

Dr. Claude was born in Bujumbura to a Rwandan mother and a Burundian father. He started his music career back in 1992 in Burundi, but didn't succeed until he came to Rwanda.

He first worked as a DJ in Maxim's Club in Kigali, and then, in late 2006, he hit the studio to work on his first album, which was released a year later.
