Kenya: Muslims Faithful Commemorate Milad-UN Nabi in Mombasa

Muslims faithful in Mombasa commemorated the birth of Prophet Muhammad "Milad-Un Nabi " in style.

Business and traffic in Mombasa on Thursday evening came to standstill as thousands of Muslim and Hindu faithfuls staged a colourful procession to mark the occasion.

Starting from Masjid Sakina Majengo up until Makadara grounds, faithfuls sang Qaswida (songs of praise) while others held prayers at Masjid Mbaruk where the legendary late Sayed Abdhulrahman Bin Ahmed Asagaf, the famous Mwinyi Abudhi was buried.

Sheikh Ali Mwinzangu attended the event as well as Mombasa gubernatorial hopeful Hassan Joho, Mvita parliamentary seat aspirant Sheikh Mohamed Dor, former Mombasa mayor Ahmed Mohdhar, former councillor Murfad Amor and former The Star distributor Mohamed Ismail.

The event went on till midnight as they dined together.
