Kenya: Squatters Reject Kilifi Surveyor

A private land surveyor from the Kilifi County Council was on Thursday afternoon chased away from the land he had been hired to survey by angry squatters.

Kenneth Kazungu had been hired by Mibuyu Saba self help group chairman Raphael Menza to surveyor the 30-acre piece of land donated to the squatters by the government.

According to the self help group spokesman Jonathan Nyundo, the squatters, who are members of the group, did not have faith in the chairman and his committee.

Nyundo said the chairman had flouted the group's constitution.
