Kenya: City Trust Closes At Sh454, Sets New Record

The Nairobi all share ended a six session consecutive losing streak. The all share turned 0.58 points higher to close at 103.03. The all Share is +8.612% in 2013. The NSE20 eased 5.29 points to close at 4379.71. The correction is over and the bull market intact.

In Commercial and Services:

Safaricom was the most actively traded share and closed unchanged at 5.60 and traded 8.849m shares worth 49.527m. Safaricom is +10.891% in 2013.

Among Banks:

City Trust firmed 0.44% to close at 454.00 to set a new record high and traded 20,600 shares. I and M Bank has proposed to reverse into City Trust.

Kenya Commercial Bank firmed 1.5266% to close at 33.25 and was trading at session highs of 33.50 +2.29% at the finish line. KCB traded 791,900 shares worth 26.4m.

Kenya Commercial Bank is +12.605% in 2013 and 2.898% below its all time closing high of 34.50 reached on January 16. Equity Bank traded 2nd at the Exchange and improved 0.97% to close at 26.00 and traded 1.354m shares worth 35.223m.

Equity Bank is +9.473% in 2013. Standard Chartered eased 0.39% to close at 257.00 and traded 53,800 shares worth 13.877m. Standard Chartered is +9.361% in 2013.

In Industrial and Allied:

EABL firmed 1.02% to close at 297.00 and and was trading at session highs of 300.00 +2.04% at the finishing bell. EABL traded 114,700 shares worth 34.082m. EABL is +12.075% in 2013 and sits 2.302% below its all time closing high of 304.00 from January 16.

Mumias Sugar firmed 1.01% to close at 5.00 and was trading at session highs of 5.10 +3.03% at the finish line. Mumias Sugar traded 2.584m shares worth 12.921m.

Mumias Sugar is +3.0927% in 2013. KenGen closed unchanged at 11.40 and was trading at 11.60 +1.75% at the closing bell. KenGen traded 431,400 shares.

KenGen rallied 56.25% the start of the year through January 18 then corrected 17.0909% through Friday's close. KenGen is +29.545% in 2013. KPLC retreated 3.13% to close at 17.05 and traded 249,400 shares.

Kenya Power is -0.29% in 2013. Eveready rallied 5.26% to close at 2.00 and traded 27,000 shares. Bamburi Cement firmed 1.49% to close at 205.00 and traded 10,800 shares. Portland rebounded 3.53% to close at 44.00 and traded 3,500 shares. ARM closed unchanged at 52.50 and traded 14,300 shares.
