The Kenya Airport police chief Grace Kaindi has been appointed the deputy Inspector General of Police. CID director Ndegwa Muhoro has retained his position while Samuel Arachi has been appointed Deputy Inspector General in charge of the AP.
Sources said President Kibaki and Prime Minister Raila Odinga had picked the three who will be gazetted soon. Kaindi topped interviews for Deputy Inspector General while Muhoro emerged top for the position of CID director.
The Independent Police Oversight Authority had objected to the appointment of Muhoro to either positions saying he had failed the integrity test. Kaindi emerged third after David Kimaiyo and John Ochieng in the interviews.
