Nigeria: Afcon - Egyptian Ref Sent Home

Grisha Ghead, the Egyptian referee who officiated the Nigeria versus Zambia match have been sent home.

Sports Vanguard gathered that the referee was sent home by the Confederation of African Football after it was discovered that the penalty he awarded to Zambia which resulted in the equaliser against Nigeria, late in the second half of the crucial encounter was questionable.

Our checks confirmed that the decision to send the Egyptian home was taken after CAF had undertaken a review of the tape of the match and it was concluded that the penalty was uncalled for and undeserved.
