Gambia: Former Kotu Quarry Demolition Victim Appeals for Assistance

Alieu Beyai, a former resident and victim of the demolition exercise carried out by government at Kotu Quarry in 2011 and 2012, is appealing for assistance to support his family.

Beyai said some of his former neighbours at Kotu Quarry who also had their compounds demolished were fortunate to be relocated to the new settlement at Wulingkama in the Kombo North District unlike him, as the ownership of his demolished compound is said to be undocumented.

He explained that he is living in real destitution with a wife and 8 children and that feeding his family is a real problem in addition to paying house rent. He said presently, four of his children are no longer going to school because of the lack of money to support their education.

He is therefore appealing for support from any Good Samaritan or philanthropic organization to come to his aid to support the education of his children.

Beyai can be contacted on these numbers: 3187141/ 9220930 / 7015310 or the Foroyaa office on 4393177.
