The Management of the New Dawn Newspaper has honored five of its employees for their dedicated services to the entity in the last three years.
They were honored and certificated at a Dinner and Award Night held Saturday, January 26, 2013 in Monrovia to mark the paper's 3rd anniversary.
Those honored include Judicial Reporter Winston Parley; Legislative Reporter E. J. Nathaniel Daygbor; Office Attendant Moses Hinneh; Layout and Graphic Designer Emmanuel Juduh, and Circulation Officer Sam Harris.
Presenting certificates to the honorees, the Egyptian Ambassador to Liberia, Sameh Lofti commended them for the successes achieved over the years and challenged them to work harder in the years ahead for the overall advancement of the paper.
The paper also honored several institutions, and individuals, including International Bank limited, LoneStar Community Corporation, the Ministry of Finance, and Peace Ambassador George Weah, Political Leader of the opposition Congress for Democratic Change (CDC), respectively, among others.
New Dawn Publisher Othello Garblah, praised the honorees for the level of dedication on the job and encouraged other employees, who were not honored to double up.
Speaking on behalf of his colleagues, Judicial reporter Winston Parley expressed delight for the recognition and promised that they would do more in coming years to left the paper to higher standards, with the practice of quality journalism.
He applauded the New Dawn Liberia Management and its hardworking editors, whom he noted, have over the years provided diligent supervision over their works, which enabled them to be proud recipients of awards.
"I would like to say that these awards given us tonight have signaled to us a greater challenge that we must double up our efforts in discharging our duties than we've always done over the years."
"Special appreciation goes to the Chief Editor and Publisher Mr. Garblah and his Principal Deputy Mr. Barpeen, who have tirelessly kept us on the professional track of journalism from the establishment of this paper back in 2010, coupled with their unrelenting efforts to see us improve in the professional practice of journalism," Winston concluded.
The Award and Dinner Night, climaxed the 3rd anniversary which began with a Thanksgiving and Intercessory service on Sunday, January 20, 2013 with the Remedy Chapel in the Airfield Community, followed by street parade and a soccer match with the Infinity Broadcasting Corporation, (Power FM and Power Television) won (1-0) by the New Dawn, including a beach party on Saturday, 25 January.
