Africa: AU Council of Ministers Approves Resolution On Self-Determination Referendum in Western Sahara

Addis Ababa — The African Union Council of Ministers has unanimously has approved a resolution asking AU Commission to take "all measures" in order to organize a referendum on self-determination in Western Sahara, the AU agency said Sunday in Addis Ababa.

The resolution comes after a broad discussion by the AU Council of Ministers on the conflicts in Africa, including Western Sahara, based on the regulations of the Organization of African Unity and United Nations.

The resolution demonstrated the continental organization's will to work for the settlement of this forgotten conflict, under AU's supervision over the conflicts that yet to be settled in Africa.
