Egypt: Mamish - Suez Canal Is Totally Secured

Head of Suez Canal Authority, Vice Admiral Mohab Mamish said that the navigation movement in the Suez Canal is normal and is fully secured. He said the Canal waterway is secured by elements from the naval force, the second and third field armies, border guard and the Ministry of Interior.

He said security measures have been tightened in light of the current tension in Suez and Port Said cities. He dismissed as incorrect reports that fire was opened at one of the Canal transiting vessels.

Mamish said leaderships of the Canal are determined to keep the Canal fully secured as it is one of the main lifelines in Egypt.
