Horrifying car accidents are becoming common sight in the ever-urbanising Addis Abeba.
One such accident happened on the new street around Gurd Shola on Tuesday, January 22, 2013. The bus owned by Anbessa City Bus Enterprise collided with nine other cars, most of which were parked on the sideline.
Although the accidents did not involve human causalities, one trader who was selling cassettes and CDs and a driver of a minibus taxi suffered minor injuries. To the dismay of the car owners, however, the damage on properties was huge. The two photographs taken on the day of the accident show the severity of the damage. It indeed is saddening that a little lax in safety results in such a huge damage on assets.
