Three groups have submitted candidate lists for the Djiboutian legislative election on February 22nd, Djibouti's La Nation reported Sunday (January 27th).
Five political parties are represented in the Union for the Presidential Majority and three in the Union for National Salvation, both coalitions that submitted lists, Interior Minister Hassan Darar Houffaneh announced on Thursday. The third list was submitted by Djibouti's newest political party, the Centre for Unified Democrats.
The nomination lists will be confirmed pending the payment of 500,000 francs ($2,800) in registration fees per candidate and ministerial judgment on the fitness of the candidates, Houffaneh said.
