The West African Wrestling Federation, WAWFA, has appointed a Nigerian traditional sports coach, Anthony Jerome Kyodula as its assistant technical director.
The letter appointing the Benue State born traditional sports coach as the assistant technical director of the regional sports body was conveyed to him via email by WAWFA president EI Hadj Boubacar Seydou.
The coach who led the Benue State traditional sports team to win two bronze medals at the just concluded 18th National Sports Festival in Lagos is also the national coach in Kokawa.
Reacting to his appointment, coach Kyodula said "I am challenged to work harder. This appointment means Nigeria is highly represented at regional wrestling association. I am not new to this business.
"As a National Coach for many years, I am prepared to face this challenge head on. My face is not new in KOKAWA is Nigeria, West Africa or the whole of Africa. I have paid my dues. I have the capability to fish and groom wrestlers to international level".
