Nigeria: Ondo Sets Up Committee On Mimiko's Inauguration

The Ondo State Government on Monday set up a 20-man committee on the inauguration of re-elected Gov. Segun Mimiko.

Mimiko, who secured a second term in October last year, would be inaugurated on Feb. 24.

The Chairman of the committee, Mr Akin Adaramola, disclosed this during a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Akure.

Adaramola, who is also the Chairman of Mimiko Campaign Organisation, said that the state had planned to set a standard for such events in the country.

"The inauguration ceremony would remain a reference point for a long time in this country," he said.

The chairman explained that the inauguration programme would soon be unveiled, adding that the event would be one with a difference and colour.

"This year's event will be the best in terms of organisation and delivery; we see it as an opportunity to demonstrate to the nation the uniqueness of Ondo state and it potentials.

"It is on record that we have bench marked for the continent of Africa in several sectors, we are also going to use the inauguration to set another unique standard," he added.
