Nigeria: Fika C'ttee Calls for Abrogation of Tenure Policy of Perm Secs, Directors

The Adamu Fika-led Presidential Committee on the Reform Processes in the Nigeria Public Service has called on the Federal Government to abrogate the Tenure Policy in the public service, especially those guiding the appointment of the post of Permanent Secretaries and Director-Generals.

Fika, who is the Chairman of the committee, disclosed this Monday in Abuja at the presentation of the final report on the reform processes in the public service to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator Anyim Pius Anyim.

He said that, on a positive side, the tenure policy had succeeded in freeing positions and a good number of officers who would otherwise be stagnated but have been promoted.
