Nigeria: Bauchi CPC Sacks Gamawa

Bauchi — The Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) in Gamawa local government of Bauchi State has sacked Senator Suleiman Nazeef Gamawa a one-time senator that represented Bauchi North Senatorial district from the party.

This was contained in three separate letters from the ward, local government and state chapters of the party sent to the national secretariat of the party for ratification.

All the three letters were signed by chairmen and secretaries of the ward, local government and state care taker committees of the party.

The first letter from Gamawa South ward was signed by Mallam Mamuda Idris Sarkin Makera and secretary Mamman Bello stating that it is the decision of the ward to sack Nazeef in order not allow disrespect and indiscipline within the party.

The second letter was signed by the CPC chairman and secretary in Gamawa LG, Alhaji Abdu Shamaki and Alhaji Sale Janare Raga endorsing the decision of the ward chapter and informing the state chapter of the decision of the ward adding that the reply of query sent to Senator Gamawa shows no remorse.

The state chapter of the party informed Senator Nazeef that it was frustrated by his continued refusal to recognize the caretaker saying, "our continued effort to get you to recognize the caretaker committees of the party at all levels as the only legitimate party authority in the state has only met your aversion and disrespect to constituted authority"

Reacting to his expulsion from the party Gamawa through his political adviser Garba Akuyam said "we consider the expulsion of senator Nazeef as null and void because it goes contrary to the constitution of party Article 8 which stipulates discipline measures for any erring member if any wrong doing is established against him.

He said in there are two factions of the CPC in Gamawa so does not know which faction sacked Gamawa.
