Gambia: Father Gough Complains About the League Fixtures

The founder of Young Africans FC, Father Joseph Gough, has became the latest to complain about the first round fixture list of the domestic Gambian premier league season.

Father Gough said that Young Africans are a team from Banjul but the venues have been drawn in such away the only Banjul team favored is Real. Hawks FC had also earlier cried foul. The two teams are complaining that as Banjul-based teams like Real, they are forced to play most of their games away from the KG5 Mini-Stadium unlike the latter.

Speaking to this reporter at the end of his side's 1-0 win over Bakau United at the Serekunda East Mini-Stadium on Sunday, Father Gough decried the fact that they will have to play all nine of their first round matches away from Banjul with Real playing all their matches at home. Young Africans will equally play five games at the Serekunda East Mini-Stadium which he said is not conducive for his team.

He accused the organising committee of the league for being unfair to his side and went further to insinuate that their mission is to give Real an unfair advantage over their opponents.
