Zimbabwe: Cleansing Ceremony for Black Spot

Masvingo Bureau — More than 21 apostolic sects joined several traditional leaders and their followers from Chivi district in conducting a cleansing ceremony at a black spot along the Masvingo-Beitbridge Highway.

The black spot has dangerous curves that have claimed hundreds of lives in road traffic accidents.

More than 1 500 congregants under the banner of the Apostolic Christian Council of Zimbabwe and several chiefs met at the spot near Ngundu Growth Point for the all-day prayer.

The prayer day sought to court divine intervention and curb road accidents.

At least one person dies every week due to road accidents at the spot.
